Culinary Casualties

Cracking open eggs
Melting some butter
Sloshing in milk
Can get us all of a flutter

But has anyone thought
Of the ingredients involved?
How do they feel 
To be in the mix and the fold?

Next time you sink your teeth 
Into a cake or a biscuit
Spare a thought 
For those ingredients within it

All that being said
Get cracking 
Get stuck in!
Get your hands dirty and have a gin!
